[Osaka N.] (1) vs. Linette M. -- Osaka has not had easy matches but early round exits have not been an issue.
[Kontaveit A.] (21) vs. Tomljanovic A. -- Great matchup. Similar skill-sets. Slight nod to Kontaveit.
Cornet A. vs. [Bencic B.] (13) -- Clash of styles makes this a toss-up, with slight nod to Bencic due to power.
[Sabalenka A.] (9) vs. Putintseva Y. -- Great matchup. So close to taking the upset on this one but Sabalenka has too much on the line and too much to prove.
Kanepi K. vs. [Vekic D.] (23) -- Vekic is a "pro" and not likely to fall victim to an upset.
[Goerges J.] (26) vs. Di Lorenzo F. -- Goerges has not played much tennis since Wimbledon and recent results have been mixed. Still it's a tall order to call an upset.
Pavlyuchenkova A. vs. [Bertens K.] (7) -- Excellent matchup. Go with Bertens because she's always solid.
[Halep S.] (4) vs. Townsend T. (Q) -- Halep gives opponents no margin for error, while Townsend needs a lot of it.
[Cirstea S.] vs. Bolsova Zadoinov A. -- True toss-up. Go with Cirstea because of the surface.
[Wozniacki C.] (19) vs. Collins D. R. -- This is going to be a battle and a clash of styles. Give experience nod to Wozniacki.
Flipkens K. (LL) vs. [Andreescu B. V. ] (15) -- Rising star not likely to have a letdown.
Kalinskaya A. (Q) vs. [Ahn K.] (WC) -- Both players pulled off upsets to reach this point. Kalniskaya has the better game but Ahn has the home crowd.
[Ostapenko J.] vs, Riske A. -- Great matchup. Ostapenko is unpredictable while Riske is on an upswing. Going with the bigger game.
[Mertens E.] (25) vs. Pliskova Kr. -- Mertens is another "pro" who is not likely to be victim to an upset.
Petkovic A. vs. [Kvitova P.] (6) -- Great matchup. Petkovic leads 3-2 and could sneak one by Kvitova.
