US Open 2019 Women's Singles Round of 16 Picks, Bottom Half

US Open 2019 Third Round Picks, RESULTS
Top Half: 5 Wins; 3 Losses

Bottom Half: 7 Wins; 1 Losses
=======

9 Players Ranked/Seeded in the Top 16
14 Players Ranked/Seeded in the Top 32
1 Player with a Wild Card
1 Player with a Qualifier Bid

Of the 16 remaining players, I picked 9 of them to reach this round, with 6 of them being in this bottom half of the draw.

Sitolina E. (5) vs. [Keys M.] (10) -- Madison has hit her stride and does well in this tournament. Svitolina remains the type of player who knows how to neutralize Madison's power and bring out the errors. Madison leads 2 to 1.

[Konta J.] (16) vs. Pliskova Ka. (3) -- Upset special. Pliskova has dominated Konta in head-to-head matchups: 6 to 1 if you count one Walkover. They normally meet in late rounds. Konta has to find a way to move Pliskova around and attack quicker.

[Williams S.] (8) vs. Martic P. (22) -- Serena has continually proven to be up for the challenges in the majors. Martic has put together some quality wins at this year, including at the majors. Still Martic's level seems to be slightly under the Top 10 or dominant players she has lost to.

Wang Q. (18) vs. [Barty A.] (2)  --  Wamg is a technician with great athleticism and decent power. Barty plays an all-around game that surpasses what Wang does. An upset is possible if Wang has an extra gear or can amp up her power level. Barty won both head to head matches.

I see all the favorites getting through.
Keys and Barty need to be on alert though for potential upsets.

Ah, my reply is late...and both Barty and Keys lost.
